Minnehaha Food Shelf

Feeding Bodies and Souls

The Minnehaha Food Shelf distributes some 9,000 pounds of food to nearly 150 families each month. Frozen entrees, produce, breads and shelf stable groceries come from a number of sources including Second Harvest Food Bank, Hope For The City, Hunger Solutions MN and neighborhood donations.

Food Shelf hours are Tuesday 10:30-3pm. We serve Minneapolis households south of Lake Street and east of Cedar Avenue. Those in need can use the food shelf weekly. On your first visit, you will need to present photo identification for yourself, proof of your current address for all members of the household, and complete a government form stating you need assistance.

Donations of shelf stable items can be brought to the church during regular office hours - Tuesday through Friday from 9am to 3pm.

The Minnehaha Food Shelf is a combined effort of Minnehaha United Methodist, St. James Episcopal, and Lake Nokomis Lutheran Churches.
